Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) chicken tenders
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp seasoning mix-purchase here
  • 1 egg
  • Spelt wafer crumbs-purchase here
  • Sunflower oil or ghee, for frying

Instructions

1. Season the Chicken

Pat the chicken tenders dry with paper towels. Place them in a bowl and add the minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and seasoning mix. Toss well to ensure each tender is evenly coated with the seasonings.

2. Prepare the Coating

Beat the egg in a shallow bowl. Place the spelt wafer crumbs in a separate shallow dish, creating an easy breading station.

3. Bread the Chicken

Dip each seasoned chicken tender into the beaten egg, allowing any excess to drip off. Then coat thoroughly with the spelt wafer crumbs, pressing gently to help the crumbs adhere and create a crisp crust.

4. Fry Until Golden

Heat about ½ inch of sunflower oil or ghee in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the breaded chicken tenders into the pan in a single layer. Avoid overcrowding the skillet to ensure even cooking.

Fry for 3–4 minutes per side, or until the tenders are golden brown and crispy on the outside.

5. Serve and Enjoy

Transfer the cooked chicken tenders to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce, a fresh salad, roasted vegetables, or crispy fries.

These crispy homemade chicken tenders deliver the perfect combination of crunch and flavor, making them a delicious alternative to store-bought versions. Enjoy them fresh from the skillet for the best texture and taste.
