PRAYER TO THE HOLY SPIRIT

O fire of the Spirit, Comforter,
O life of the life of all creation,
You are holy, giving life to all forms.
You are holy, anointing
the dangerously broken.
You are holy, cleansing
foul wounds.

O breath of holiness,
O fire of love,
O sweetness in the breast,
and overflowing in hearts
with the fragrance of virtues.

O pure fountain,
in which it is revealed that God
gathers the lost
and seeks out the strayed.

O armor of life,
and hope of uniting all members,
O belt of honor,
save the blessed.
Guard those imprisoned
by the enemy,
and release the bonds
of those whom God's power longs to free.

O mightiest path,
penetrating all,
in the heights of the heavens,
on the earth,
and in every abyss,
You bring all together and gather all.

Through You the clouds flow,
the ether soars,
stones gain moisture,
waters become streams,
and the earth exudes green.

You also forever guide the wise,
made joyful by the inspiration of wisdom.
Therefore, to You be praise,
who are the sound of praise,
the delight of life,
the hope and mighty honor,
the most precious gift of light.
